Rules winter 2019/20
1. All Teams applying to join the TDDL will pay a Deposit of £20 before being allowed entry into the League. This deposit will be repaid at the end of the season or can be carried over and used as a deposit for entry into the following season if ALL fixtures are completed and there are NO outstanding fees. Each team will be charged £6 a match including KO cup matches, payable to the League Treasurer. The final payment of the season will include any necessary adjustments to the fees by the League Treasurer
2. League Format: Teams to consist of between six and twelve players. Match to start with 3 doubles of 701, best of 3 legs, followed by 6 singles of 501, best of 3 legs. All games to be straight start and double finish. Pairs to be chosen by the Captain but order of play to be drawn. After the pairs, substitution of players can take place for the singles. Order of play to be drawn with away team throwing first in every game, then alternative throws in each leg, in the KO Cup games pairs to be a random draw, i.e. six names randomly drawn with the first player drawn partnering the second player drawn in the first game, third and fourth players drawn playing together in the second game with fifth and sixth players drawn playing together in the third game. In the KO Cup final one toss then alternative throw.
3. The Committee shall wherever possible arrange Team and Individual Cup competitions throughout the season
4. All matches to be played on a treble’s board. Standard throwing distance as follows – Floor to centre of Bullseye 5’8”, back of the oche to the face of the board 7’9¼”, diagonally from centre of the bull to back of the oche - 115½”).
5. All matches, draw to be completed by 8:15 pm so that games can start by 8.30 pm, any teams not ready to start by 8.40 pm will forfeit the first game. Players coming late can be put in the draw and with the agreement of BOTH Captains games can be played out of sequence, including playing singles before some pairs, NO player can be substituted after the draw..
6. League Matches – 1 point for game won with two bonus points for an overall win, 1 point for each team in the case of a drawn match. At the end of the season in the event of a tie on points, the following applies. Firstly, Games won (not matches) then leg difference.
7. Results to be texted to league Republic within 24 hours of match finishing by the home team, also a picture or result sheet to the fixture secretary within four days of the match finishing by BOTH teams. Result pictures can be sent by phone picture via E Mail, Facebook or any other application on a mobile device. If a picture is sent then the signed result sheet can be handed in at the next meeting. Persistent failure to comply will result in 1 point being deducted for each late result at the Committee’s discretion.
8. Promotion and relegation will be two up and two down, wherever possible.
9. Players can be signed on to play on the night of the match for both league and KO cup matches except KO cup final and Consolation cup final.
10. League & Cup matches can NOT be cancelled except in the case of severe weather, which will be decided by officials of the league, their decision will be based on whether public transport is running or not and location of the match. The league will then agree a new
date for the game(s) to be played, any other matches will be deemed forfeited by the Team failing to play the match and points awarded as per rule 24, also the Team cancelling the game shall be charged the other Teams match fee's.
Match Result Card must be sent to the secretary. A result cannot be entered without a result sheet being received.
11. All league games must be completed by the final scheduled league game of the season. No results shall be accepted after the five-day posting period of that date, any results not received by this date will be declared void.
12. Any complaint must be made in writing to the League Secretary within five days of the alleged incident. The League will not enter into any dispute regarding non-dart-related issues, which includes costs/expenses incurred due to fixture cancellation or inclusion in blackouts or raffle draws, furthermore it is solely the Landlord / Landlady’s discretion as to whether food is provided for any darts night.
13. Players are not allowed to transfer between teams during a playing season once they have represented a team except in exceptional circumstances.
This will be permitted only if the player has the approval of both captains involved, notification and agreement of both the league Chairman and Fixture secretary prior to playing for the new team and a payment of £5 to the league, they would also be eligible for all KO cup games.
All approved transfers will be minuted at the next monthly meeting.
14. Teams turning up for a match without a full team shall play as many games as possible, eg: With five players they shall forfeit one single two legs to nil and play one pair, one player versus two players (6 darts thrown to 3) with Four players, forfeit two singles two legs to nil and one pair, with Three players forfeit three singles two legs to nil and one pair and play one pair one player versus two. Three Players required per team to constitute a match.
15. Any team withdrawing from the League will be charged a full season’s fees. If a team refuses to pay then individual team members will each be charged a percentage of the amount owed to the league. In all circumstances it is the responsibility of the registered players to pay any and all outstanding fees regardless of any sponsorship deal that exists between the players and a third party. If half of the fixtures are completed, i.e. all teams played once, the results to the halfway point will stand and subsequent games will be void. In the event of an incomplete half of fixtures, all results to be void. Where a game is void all points, games and legs will be deducted from the league tables, however 180’s, least darts, high checkouts and Players attendance will stand except those registered by the team withdrawing from the league.
16. Any team more than four weeks behind with half way league fee's will be fined £5
17. The committee will comprise of: the Chairman, Fixture Secretary and Treasurer, (officials) plus one representative of each team.
18. Any team 3 months behind with the payment of league fees will be asked to pay the outstanding balance in full within 7 days or be automatically debt suspended and take no
further part in the league season. Any such team will be required to pay £20 deposit in addition to the normal deposit amount before rejoining the league in following seasons.
19. Each team must be represented at the Presentation Evening. Failure to not attend will result in prize monies being forfeited with any trophies to be collected at the following delegates meeting
20. All teams must complete the competition entry form by the announced date. Late entries will be included in the draw for said competitions but charged an additional 50p per competition. The draw will be made on the night of the competition except the KO Cup.
21. All Cup Finals must be played on the Finals Night and cannot be rearranged. Failure to turn up on the Finals Night will mean the loss of the game and the prize money being forfeited.
22. Missing, non-returned or severely damaged trophies will result in that team / player sharing in the cost of a replacement trophy
23. The Committee will address any items not covered in these rules and their decision will be final. Any disputes will initially be investigated and hopefully resolved by the leagues officials, any that are not resolved will be referred to the full committee.
24. Any teams claiming games will be awarded the match 5 games to 0, no win bonus or legs awarded.
25. Each team represented at a annual general meeting shall be entitled to one vote only on all propositions, in the event of a tied vote the chairman shall have the casting vote.
26. Competitions and KO/Consolation cup finals will be open to those players who have played or attended a minimum of Four games, including KO/Consolation cup games. nb players not playing but present should sign the back of the result sheet which in turn must be counter signed by the opposing captain.
27. The KO/Consolation cup will follow the same format as the league, if in the two legs both teams are level in both games and legs the tie will be decided by playing one leg of 1001 with any six players in any order with away team throwing first.
28. Both players entering the pair’s competition MUST be from the same team
29. Either Team Captain can request a checker/caller for any or all games.
30. For All non team competitions Losers MUST Mark the next game as directed by the organiser, or arrange for another person to Mark for them, any players who fail to do this will be given a verbal warning by an official which will then be minuted in the Leagues minute book, a second occasion will result in a that person(s) being excluded from the following years non team competitions.
31. Achievements registered in the KO cup will only count in the leagues achievements for each teams first tie, whether that be one game or a two legged match.
32. League Prize money will be £1.00p per point.
33. Any Propositions to change or create new Rules MUST be in writing and in the hands of the Chairman 21 days before the AGM.
